Glocal Junction, Andheri West: 3.5/5

Glocal Junction Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

Went to this place for a Saturday lunch with friends and was delighted with the beautiful ambience – it has both indoor and outdoor seating areas and the indoor is built with a lot of day light saving such as long window walls that give it a huge n open look. I particularly found the Bar interesting as its located in the middle of the restaurant and goes all the way up to their second seating floor. Very cool indeed!! Oh and their cutlery reminded me of prison cum mechanical theme which was although very cool but oddly placed.

The place as its name suggests tries to blend in desi version to the global cuisines thus making the dishes sound very interesting. We started with Churassco Chicken Steak Plate and Jose Chicken Kebabs – both tasted good but couldn’t understand the fusion theme to it. Also, the quantity is very less that justifies how they have priced the food but I rather they charge a little higher and serve decent portions. The chickens were served with 2 kinds of sauces and the dishes tasted quite similar – failed to impress but din disappoint either. Our next item on d menu was slow cooked BBQ chicken burger with chipotle mayo slaw – completely avoidable! I couldn’t take a bite. The burger bun was very dry and weirdly yellow and the chicken was BAD!

Thankfully we tried Tandoori Chicken Risotto – MUST TRY – which seemed to be the only “Glocal” namesake preparation and was delicious!! Really loved and enjoyed the dish.

The drinks here are pretty amazing – especially their House Special Black Magic which is a whiskey based cocktail served over dry ice that gives it the black magic style fumes!! Tastes amazing too. We also tried their off the menu cocktail – again whiskey based on our request but with lime and sweet to taste. In their raw fresh drinks I tried the beetroot based drink which was refreshing and so healthy!! Must try again.

Oh before I forget the highlight – Toxic Mousse- brilliant. A chocolate cake with melted orange syrup inside alongwith chocolate mousse! Again, a small quantity but totally worth it.

Coming to their hospitality, yes the people are good and helpful. The place has good vibes and I had a really happy time with my friends here. We had 3 alcoholic drinks, 2 non alcoholic, 2 starters and 2 main course and a dessert and the bill was merely 3000 bucks!! It’s really a steal!!

Recommended: Ask for House Specials. Try Tandoori Children Risotto and Toxic Mousse. Must try their huge list of cocktails.

Suggestions: Increase the food price if u must but pls increase the quantity. The preparation needs to have more fusion look or explanation.
