Went to this place on a Thursday evening with really high expectations but was sadly disappointed. It was hardly 10 mins since we were all seated that my friend saw a huge rat under the table next to ours!! We asked the waiters to check on it but they couldn’t find it. It was that moment that we wondered if we should leave!! Decided to continue and hoping the kitchen is clean.
We started by ordering our cocktails and mocktails – enjoyed them. No complaints here. For appetizers we ordered lemon turmeric chicken and Tom Yum Chicken skewers. Both the preparation were nice but our expectations from bungalow 9 was really high which was not met.
For main course I ordered Pan Seared John Dory for myself and after my amazingly delicious experience at the Tasting Room, I was highly disappointed here. The fish was bland, dry and lacked a lot of things. It was difficult to have the entire portion and the lentil served with it din serve any purpose. Similar experience with Salmon – din enjoy it at all. My Vegetarian buddies on the other hand had a better experience – they enjoyed the veg pizza they ordered as well as the lasagne which I tasted as well and found it delicious. The redang Lamb was served and we were amazed by its size! It tasted nice.
Finally came the much awaited Desserts – we ordered a variety of them such as Jack Daniels’ Whiskey icecream, chocolate and butterscotch mousse, chocolate marquise and the classic Tiramisu. JD ice cream had more of an after taste of JD and tasted great. Other chocolate Desserts were good but not good enough to finish the whole thing. And when dessert is not finished, it means it wasn’t good enough!! No, it wasn’t bad but not awesome. However I must compliment the chef for amazing presentation of the food – they looked remarkable when served.
Overall our experience wasn’t all that great with the hype that was created around this place. Found it over priced for the quality of food that was served and the rat in the restaurant really added on the negative note! Sorry guys, maybe next time when (and if) I visit I hope to have a better experience.
