Countries Connection is located diagonally opposite to Infinity Mall, opposite Mainland China building. The place is easy to locate and is located amongst so many restaurants in that area. It’s like a hidden gem which is started by 5 ex-Chefs who are now partners. The concept is global and as the name suggests it has all cuisines – Mexican, Chinese, Asian, Italian and North Indian.
Ambience: The ambience of the restaurant is very comfortable with good seating and lovely music. The interiors are simple with colored walls and balloons as part of the décor. Overall, very comfortable place to dine.
Food: We started with chicken Manchow Soup and the taste was amazing – unlike other places which put cooked chicken pieces in chicken Manchow, here they use fresh chicken which adds it’s juice to the soup, making it delicious and perfect. No extra use of starch to make it thick as seen in many other places.
Next on the menu were appetizers – Shangrila Rocks Chicken which had chicken cubes in schezwan sauce. Interestingly all their sauces are made in-house and this schezwan sauce too. It was made of tomato and Lemon grass n ginger khow suey – perfect chilli base but on sweeter side. The next wow preparation was fish malai tikka which was true to its name -the fish was very well cooked in butter and cheese that it melted in my mouth with each bite.
Finally the main course – Chicago Pizza – omg – Fully Loaded Pie style pizza with spicy cheese sauce and lamb topping. The lamb topping was in the form of mutton seekh cut in pieces and spread over the pizza. The crust was crispy and the stuffing was pie style heavy loaded with cheese and exotic veggies. With each bite you could relish the cheesy stuffing n yummy Lamb.
Our next main course was the best of all – Mexican Grilled Chicken with Mexican Rice served with salsa sauce and sour cream. It was served hot, chicken was tender and the salsa sauce was made with kidney beans. Overall, a delicious preparation, very authentic.
In the beverage I had cranberry kafir lime Caprioska. It was quite refreshing with cranberry syrup and soda base. The frozen strawberry margarita was just amazing – amazing layer of strawberry and coconut water! Truly remarkable.
Hospitality: The staff was very friendly and helpful. Good hospitality indeed. We also had a chance to meet their head chef Vijay who explained us about the various dishes that we ordered. He was quite humble and friendly too.
Overall a great experience and amazing value for money!! For the cost it charges, the preparation is outstanding and you feel satisfied and happy when you exit the place.
