Peninsula, Sion: 3/5

Peninsula Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

Ambiance: 3.5/5
Peninsula is one of the 3 restaurants under this brand Peninsula. This outlet recently celebrated its 25th Anniversary. The ambiance has an old charm to it and the décor has been retained to the classic style.

Food: 3.5/5
Peninsula serves 5 kinds of cuisines such as Indian, Chinese, Continental, Mexican and Oriental. The place is mainly known for Kebabs and sea food. The quantity is very good that can easily serve atleast 3-4 people. The serve 8 pieces in each appetizer, 6 incase of fish and upto even 9 incase of veg.

We started with Mytho Chicken which is chinese preparation made with ginger, garlic, onion, chili flakes and finally pan tossed with chunks of chicken. Although I liked the taste, chicken needed more work as it tasted a bit chewy.

Next was Basa fish kasturi which was prepared with the marination of saffron spice and curd and finally grilled on the tandoor. The fish was tender and melted in my mouth with every bite, while the marination had the perfect taste, not too spicy, not too salty and yum.

Next appetizer was Sangam Kebab which was the Union of Chicken and Mutton Seekh Kebab. Very innovative: crushed pieces of meat stuffed together having mutton on the outside and chicken filling in the inside. A creative and delicious seekh Kebab indeed.

Drinks: 4.5/5
For drinks we opted for virgin Mojito which was made of mint and lime juice – very classic and refreshing. It was perfect with balance of lime juice and sweetener.

Also tried another mocktail called Blush on Ice: This was made out of fresh juices of orange, litchi and pineapple mixed with sprite and crushed ice. Again, a very refreshing drink to have on a summer evening.

For Desserts you must try their famous Rabdi which comes with dry fruits garnishing on top. The sweetness is perfect and so is the color and taste. A must have and 4.5/5 indeed!!!

Hospitality: 4/5
The staff here is very courteous and the manager Mr Akash was very helpful. He guided us to the House Specials and explained us all the dishes. You won’t find a savvy staff but this is a good family place that reminded of childhood days – the kind of restaurants we used to go to with our parents.

So relive the old charm, have a great time!!
