Paaji’s express is an express outlet of the popular Papa Pancho’s food chain. Meaning, it’s a small eatery joint located in the busy business district of Lower Parel catering to the hungry office goers!
Even being a tiny place, Paaji’s express has done its best to make the ambience very pleasing to its customers. Colorful interiors with interesting décor brings about positive vibes at this place.
We happened to visit for lunch and started with starters: Chicken Tikka and Paneer Tikka. I was a vegetarian during those days and totally loved the Paneer Tikka served. The Paneer cubes were big in size, well marinated with yogurt and Indian spices and well grilled to perfection. It retained the softness of the paneer and also retained the juicy marination. Served with mint chutney and onions on the side, had a lovely meal indeed. My colleagues tried the chicken starter and gave it a thumbs up too – which is my limited comment on this one.
In main course we ordered for the most popular North Indian specialty: Dal Makhani. And indeed the kaali Dal served was rich with cream. With a smooth texture, it tasted great too – mild spicy. And the best part was that it was served with hot and fluffy chapatis! Oh yes, they serve chapatis too which worked for our best as we were not in the mood to have Tandoori Rotis et al.
Amongst beverages we tried Chaas and Iced Tea. I would not recommend the Iced Tea but the Chaas was wonderful!
The staff is courteous and quick in their service. Swift service is your utmost expectation from such express outlets and Paaji’s din disappoint there.
Overall, it was a great experience and I will definitely go back to try something more.
